Love

“Lord, I LOVE him!  I absolutely LOVE him!!  I recognize that others may see an imperfect shell and see ‘disabilities’ but I don’t care about any of it.  I just love him.  I don’t need him to be perfect in order for me to feel love towards him.  I really really love him…so much!”

…and in the quietness of my heart the Lord whispered back…

“And I LOVE YOU!  I don’t need you to be perfect.  I don’t see your disabilities.  There’s nothing you can change to affect how much I love you.  I just really really love you!”

  1. Your best post!!
    Spoke to my heart.
Although there are moments of temptation to only see Isaiah’s special needs and how different he is from the other kids his age and from his sister, most of the time I just see my amazing little miracle boy who God saved from the death of an abortion and the abuse of drug addictions!
I love Isaiah with my whole heart! I have never held any love back. He is my child. The love is endless! I also have seen it tonight as I watched my children be loved by their earthly father. Andrew played with both kids with such joy! He showed love and attention to them equally. He told them he loved them over and over as he sprayed them with the hose, spun them aroud the backyard and tossed baseballs to them so they could hit (or miss them) with thier plastic bats. He showered them with kisses at bedtime and I heard him bless them both and tell them how much he loves them. He doesn’t see only Isaiah’s special needs either. My husband reminds me of the love of my Heavenly Father. What a blessed child of God I am to be surrounded by his example!
And I am forever grateful to call you my friend, Krista! You are the sweet love of Christ to me over and over again these last 13 years! I love you!!

After reading your post I can now see how God can love me even though I am not perfect! What an amazing Father we have.
